Job summary

St Gerard's Catholic Primary & Nursery School in Widnes is seeking a temporary Classroom Support Assistant to join our KS2 team. This part-time post is 20 hours per week, term time only, Monday to Friday 8.30am–12.30pm.

You will support Year 6 pupils with learning, contribute to a caring Catholic ethos, and work closely with staff. The role requires an enhanced DBS check and starts as soon as possible.

The Governing Body would like to recruit a temporary Classroom Support Assistant to join our school. Our priority is to find a patient, inspirational and creative person to support in Key Stage 2.

The Successful Applicant will:

• Have essential experience of working with Year 6 pupils and a strong understanding of the specific needs, expectations and challenges of children in their final year of primary school.
• Be confident and experienced in supporting Year 6 pupils in their learning, progress and preparation for the transition to secondary school.
• Have a clear understanding of the role of a Classroom Assistant and the ability to work effectively as part of a dedicated team.
• Be passionate about supporting children’s learning and development, and be able to model and promote high standards of classroom practice.
• Be committed to supporting and promoting the school’s strong Catholic ethos and values.
