Job summary

Milk Education, in partnership with a fantastic primary school in Wallsend, is seeking a confident Classroom Support Assistant to join their staff on a full-time basis starting September 2026. You will cover lessons in the absence of main teaching staff and help keep students engaged.

  • A genuine passion for education and working with children.
  • Solid literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence leading groups of students.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with both students and staff.
  • A professional, reliable and adaptable approach.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
  • An Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service (or willingness to apply).

Classroom Support Assistant

Location: Wallsend, Newcastle

Working hours: 8.30am-3.45pm Monday to Friday

Milk Education are currently working in partnership with a fantastic Primary school that is seeking a confident and enthusiastic Classroom Support Assistant to join their staff team on a full-time basis.

The role of a Classroom Support Assistant is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants, youth workers, sports coaches, tutors, or individuals with experience working with young people who are looking to gain valuable classroom experience within a school setting.

As a Classroom Support Assistant, you will cover lessons during the absence of main teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged, focused, and on task with the work provided. You will be responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, maintaining high expectations of behaviour and supporting student learning.

You will work across a variety of subject areas and year groups, gaining valuable experience within a supportive and welcoming secondary school environment.
