Ss Peter and Paul’s Catholic Academy invites applications for a Support Assistant Level 2 to assist with planning, delivery of lessons, and pastoral support for learners. 35 hours per week, term time plus 3 staff training days; fixed term until 31 August 2027.

The role requires at least 3 GCSEs including English and Maths; Teaching Assistant qualification desirable; strong communication and empathy to support diverse learners within the Bishop Bewick Catholic Education Trust.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 GCSEs at C grade or above, including English and Maths.
• Teaching Assistant qualification desirable.
• Experience of class supervision and assisting with lesson provision to achieve positive learning outcomes.
• Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in tandem with teaching staff.
• Ability to be empathetic and understanding to the needs of students.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, preparation and delivery of lesson provision, both on a whole-class and individual basis.
• Prepare resources to support learning activities.
• Ensure pupils are supported pastorally and monitor progress.
• Provide feedback to the class teacher to ensure all students’ learning needs are being met.
