Job summary

Emerald Teaching is seeking a Cover Supervisor to work across schools in Manchester. You will supervise classes when teachers are absent, deliver pre-prepared lessons, and help students stay engaged and on task. A proactive approach and strong classroom management are essential to sustain a productive learning environment.

Experience with young people is preferred, but not essential. A DBS check is required or willingness to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a classroom and keeping students focused.
• Strong verbal and written communication with students and staff.
• Ability to adapt to different schools and age groups.
• DBS check in place or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes during teacher absences and maintain order.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure instructions are followed.
• Support students with questions and challenges related to tasks.
• Manage classroom behaviour to foster a positive learning environment.
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure smooth transitions between lessons.
