Job summary

Elms Bank School and College in Whitefield is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join our team, supporting classes in the absence of the lead teacher. You will deliver pre-prepared lessons or create engaging activities, promoting independence and positive behaviour for pupils with diverse learning needs.

You will work closely with Teaching Assistants and other professionals to ensure high-quality teaching and learning, with safeguarding at the heart of our approach and a focus on inclusion

Qualifications

• Experience working with pupils with additional or complex needs.
• Confident leading learning in a classroom setting.
• Flexible, proactive, and able to respond to changing situations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and adapt lessons for individuals, small groups, and whole classes
• Support pupils with complex needs, using specialist strategies and interventions
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and wider professionals
• Monitor progress, provide feedback, and contribute to planning
• Maintain a positive, structured learning environment
• Support behaviour management using Team Teach strategies
• Contribute to wider school activities, including trips, meetings, and extended provision
