Job summary

Lift Kingsley is seeking a Cover Supervisor to keep learning on track when teachers are absent. You will guide students through pre-prepared materials, provide support, and help create a calm, focused classroom where learners stay engaged.

This role does not require full teaching qualifications but requires GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4 or equivalent) and experience with children or young people. You will work as part of a supportive team within a values-driven school environment.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4 or equivalent) required.
• Experience working with children or young people recommended.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and adapt quickly to different subjects and age groups.

Responsibilities

• Guide students through pre-prepared lesson materials, answering questions and offering support.
• Create a positive and orderly learning environment where students can focus and achieve.
• Support students with SEND to understand tasks and meet their individual goals.
• Use a variety of approaches to encourage good behaviour, in line with our behaviour policy.
• Provide feedback to teachers on how students performed during the lesson.
• Complete attendance registers and assist with supervision during break times.
