ASI Recruitment Ltd in Ramsgate is seeking a Classic Car Restoration Paint Technician to join a family-run workshop. The role focuses on paint preparation, spraying and finishing of classic vehicles, with some filler work, shaping and general prep.

Responsibilities

• Preparing classic car panels and bodywork for painting.
• Carrying out filler work, shaping and sanding.
• Priming and preparing panels ready for paint.
• Mixing paints and refinishing products.
• Accurate paint mixing and colour matching.
• Spraying vehicles and components in the spray booth/oven.
• Flatting, polishing and mopping finished paintwork.
• Inspecting completed work and correcting imperfections.
• Protecting vehicles and components throughout the restoration process.
• Keeping the workshop, spray booth, tools and equipment clean and well maintained.

This is an opportunity to join a family-run classic car restoration business, working on the preparation, painting and finishing of classic vehicles as part of their restoration projects.

The workshop has a relaxed atmosphere and a manageable workload, giving you the time to concentrate on the quality of your work and get the finish right. It's a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with classic cars and takes real pride in their workmanship.

The main focus will be paint preparation, spraying and finishing, with some filler work, shaping and general preparation also required.

Requirements

The priority is someone with proven professional paint spraying experience who understands the level of care and patience required when restoring classic vehicles.

You’ll ideally have previous experience in a classic car restoration environment, although strong paint spraying experience and the right attitude to restoration work will also be considered.

A good eye for detail, pride in your workmanship and the ability to work independently are important. Being able to turn your hand to filler and preparation work as well as spraying would make you particularly well suited to the role.

Salary and Benefits
