We are seeking an enthusiastic, child-centred, and caring individual who is eager to make a positive difference in our pupils' lives. We wish to recruit a dynamic and highly motivated individual who is committed to providing quality education and care which best places our pupils to maximise their learning and potential.
The ideal candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner committed to continually improving and refining their teaching. You will have a collaborative spirit, ready to support the holistic development of each child and engage actively with our community. A good sense of humour would be an added benefit, helping to create a joyful, calm and dynamic classroom environment.
This is a one year contract in the first instance and we would hope that the successful applicant would also help to lead a foundation subject area.
Duties and responsibilities Teaching
• Plan and teach well-structured lessons to assigned classes, following the school’s plans, curriculum and schemes of work
• Assess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress and achievements of assigned pupils, making accurate and productive use of assessment
• Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of pupils
• Set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils
• Promote good progress and outcomes by pupils
• Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge
• Participate in arrangements for preparing pupils for external tests
Qualifications and Experience:
• Qualified teacher status
• Degree
• Successful primary teaching experience
Skills and Knowledge:
• Knowledge of the National Curriculum
• Knowledge of effective teaching and learning strategies
• A good understanding of how children learn
• Ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils’ needs
• Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils
• Knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children
• Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies
• Good ICT skills, particularly using ICT to support learning – a good working knowledge of Google Classroom would be an advantage.
We are dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. You will have a safeguarding responsibility if appointed.
The successful candidate will be subject to enhanced clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service and employment will be subject to references.
