Job summary

Discovery Primary Academy in Peterborough is seeking a dedicated class teacher to deliver high-quality lessons within our knowledge-rich KS2 curriculum.

You will assess pupils, monitor progress, and adapt your practice to achieve the best outcomes while collaborating with staff, parents, and external agencies.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status and relevant degree or equivalent.
• Experience as a class teacher in Key Stage 2 in a primary school.

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach lessons within the academy's knowledge-rich curriculum to the class(es) assigned.
• Assess, monitor, record and report on learning needs, progress and achievements.
• Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working with staff, parents and other agencies.
• Be an excellent role model and promote high expectations for all members of the school community.
• Maintain safeguarding and welfare of children.

• Plan and teach lessons and sequences of lessons to the class(es) you are assigned to teach within the context of the academy's knowledge-rich curriculum
• Assess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress, and achievements of assigned pupils, planning and adapting your practice to ensure the best possible outcomes
• Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies
• Be an excellent role model - exemplifying a high standard of teaching and promoting high expectation for all members of the school community
• Maintaining the highest expectations for all children

• Experience of working as a class teacher in a primary school setting in Key Stage 2
