About The Mead Nursery and Infant School
At The Mead, we believe that every child deserves the very best start to their educational journey. As a thriving three-form entry Infant School, we offer a warm, inclusive, and inspiring environment where children aged 3 to 7 can flourish. As part of the Bourne Education Trust (BET), a successful multi-academy trust comprising twenty-four schools across Surrey, Hampshire, and the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, we are committed to "Transforming schools...changing lives."
We are proud to be a popular and well-regarded school, with three classes in each year group, making a total of nine vibrant and engaging classrooms. Our Nursery provision for 65 children offers both 15-hour and 30-hour places. We are also home to a specialist provision for up to 9 deaf children, ensuring that all learners are supported and celebrated.
We work in close partnership with Auriol Junior School, located just next door. As a feeder school, all children who attend The Mead have priority admission to Auriol, making the transition from Year 2 to Year 3 smooth and reassuring. As well as having both Early Years and Infant education specialisms, with Auriol we are building a strong Primary Community, where children benefit from continuity, shared values, and a consistent approach to learning and wellbeing.
At The Mead, we are more than just a school — we are a community. Our motto, “Proud to Belong,” reflects the inclusive, supportive, and aspirational culture we nurture every day. We are committed to helping every child feel valued, confident, and excited to learn.
