A leading company is seeking a committed Secondary Teacher for a specialist autism provision. This full-time role involves supporting students with autism, planning educational sessions, and leading a team of teaching assistants. We are looking for a committed and dedicated Secondary Teacher to join our team at a specialist autism provision on a Full-Time basis. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with autism, supporting their individual learning needs within a compassionate and inclusive environment. As a secondary class teacher, you will support students with special educational needs, specifically autism. Your responsibilities will include planning a full range of sessions across the week to develop students' learning and independent skills. Due to our school expansion, this class is a new addition to Portfield School.
Our class staff work in partnership with our therapy team to deliver therapeutic input and enrichment opportunities aimed at building student confidence, personal development, and empowering learners to reach their full potential.
Our secondary students are working to develop their preparation for adulthood skills and the transition to our sixth form. An understanding of how to support students in achieving nationally recognized qualifications would be beneficial.
You will lead a team of teaching assistants who help the class run smoothly. You will have access to specialist facilities such as our therapy pool and sensory rooms, creating unique and inspiring environments.
For this secondary phase of learning, we are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
As a Teacher, you will undergo a 12-week onboarding program with in-house training and development courses to understand each student's needs and how to best support them. You will have opportunities to gain new skills throughout your career, such as learning sign language, becoming a training tutor, or completing NVQ qualifications for career progression.
