Job summary

St Wilfrid’s Catholic Primary School in Burgess Hill, West Sussex, is seeking a Class Teacher to join our warm, faith–inspired learning community from January 2027. This permanent, full-time post offers the MPS/UPS pay scale and a supportive environment where pupils’ academic and spiritual development are valued.

The successful candidate will plan engaging lessons, assess progress, differentiate for diverse needs and contribute to the ethos of our school.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum and expectations for pupil progress.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills essential.
  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils' needs and foster inclusive learning.
  • Good IT skills and experience with safeguarding systems are desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and teach well-structured lessons to assigned classes following school plans.
  • Assess, monitor, record and report pupil progress with accurate feedback.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet varying pupil needs and abilities.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour and contribute to school-wide policy implementation.
