Job summary

Manpower UK is recruiting for reliable, safety-conscious Class 2 and Van drivers for flexible, short-term assignments across designated areas. These roles offer 1-4 days of work with multi-drop deliveries, store drops, cage work, palletised goods, or general distribution.

Typical hours are 4.30am-2pm/3pm finish. Pay rates are £15ph for Class 2 and £13ph for Van Drivers, with weekly pay and potential temp-to-perm opportunities for strong performers.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• At least 6 months' recent Class 2 driving experience (commercial/multi-drop preferred).
• No more than 3-6 penalty points (client dependent).

Responsibilities

• Safely operate company or client vehicles in line with DVSA and road traffic legislation.
• Complete daily vehicle walk-around checks and report defects promptly.
• Load and unload vehicles safely, using tail lifts, pallet trucks and manual handling where required.
• Follow planned routes and delivery schedules, communicating delays to the transport office.
• Complete delivery paperwork/PODs accurately and return documentation as instructed.
• Maintain high standards of health & safety and represent the client professionally at all sites.

Key Responsibilities

For All Drivers

• Safely operate company or client vehicles in line with DVSA and road traffic legislation.
• Complete daily vehicle walk-around checks and report defects promptly.
• Load and unload vehicles safely, using tail lifts, pallet trucks and manual handling where required.
• Follow planned routes and delivery schedules, communicating delays to the transport office.
• Complete delivery paperwork/PODs accurately and return documentation as instructed.

Class 2 (LGV) Drivers - Additional Duties

• Drive Class 2 (Category C) vehicles for multi-drop or trunking work as assigned.
• Operate tail lifts and handle cages/pallets; some roles may involve decanting stock at stores.
• Use handheld terminals or delivery apps where required.

Van Drivers - Additional Duties

• Drive 3.5t vans for local and regional multi-drop deliveries.
• Contact customers by phone or in person to arrange access or delivery times where needed.
• Keep the van clean, organised and secure; ensure loads are safely restrained.

Essential Requirements

Class 2 Drivers

• Valid UK Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• At least 6 months' recent Class 2 driving experience (commercial/multi-drop preferred).

Van Drivers

• Valid UK Category B (car/van) licence; some roles require up to 3.5t experience.
• Previous van, 3.5t or multi-drop experience preferred.
• Confident with manual handling and customer-facing deliveries.

For Both Roles

• Right to work in the UK.
• Good knowledge of local roads
• Reliable, punctual and able to pass any client site induction or security checks.
