Qualifications

• Valid UK HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• Valid Driver CPC.
• Valid Digital Tachograph card.
• Previous experience in waste sector preferred.
• Good knowledge of local roads around Widnes.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Physically fit for manual handling.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate HGV Class 2 vehicles for waste collections.
• Collect and transport waste safely and efficiently.

• Ensure areas are left clean and tidy; proper bin positioning.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects.

HGV Class 2 Trade Waste Driver

Location: Widnes

Pay: £14.47 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Start Time: Between 03:00 and 04:00

Overtime: £18.09 per hour after 40 hours, including weekend overtime opportunities

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our busy Widnes depot.

You will be responsible for safely and efficiently collecting and transporting commercial and industrial waste using a modern HGV fleet.

This is a stable, full-time position offering consistent Monday to Friday shifts, a paid break and the opportunity to increase your earnings through overtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate HGV Class 2 vehicles for commercial and industrial waste collections
• Collect and transport waste safely and efficiently
• Plan and follow efficient routes to maximise productivity
• Provide excellent customer service at customer sites
• Ensure collection areas are left clean and tidy
• Ensure bins and containers are correctly positioned
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly
• Comply with waste duty of care requirements
• Follow drivers' hours, tachograph and road safety regulations
• Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times
• Represent the company professionally when dealing with customers
• Carry out manual handling tasks when required

Requirements

• Guaranteed 40-hour working week
• £18.09 per hour overtime rate after 40 hours
