Job summary

Backline Logistics is seeking an experienced Class 2 Driver for our long-established client near Exeter. The role involves driving a manual Class 2 vehicle; tanker experience is preferred and a solid understanding of road safety is required.

Shifts are typically 12 hours with travel time and some weekends on a rota. We offer weekly pay, overtime premiums, training and progression opportunities, and uniform provided. Own transport to travel to the site is necessary.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Class 2 (Category C) licence and CPC card.
• Minimum 6 months HGV driving experience preferred.
• Tank­er experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Manual gearbox experience is required.
• Able to perform loading/unloading tasks as needed.
• Good knowledge of UK road networks.
• Professional attitude and good communication.
• Own transport to reach the site.
• Willing to complete training as required.

Responsibilities

• Drive a Class 2 vehicle (manual) as required.
• Adhere to driving regs and safety practices.
• Work 12‑hour shifts with travel time and some weekends on a rota.
• Assist with loading/unloading when necessary.
• Maintain vehicle appearance and basic maintenance.

We're Hiring a Class 2 Driver!

We're looking for experienced and reliable Class 2 (Category C) drivers to drive for our long established client.

This role involves driving a manual Class 2 vehicle, tanker experience preferred.

Must have experience of a manual gearbox.

This role is on the outskirts of Exeter so own transport due to location and hours is required.

12 hour shifts plus travel time including some weekends depending on contract (on a rota).

This is a temp to perm role for the right candidate.

Requirements

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence
• Up-to-date CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Minimum 6 months HGV driving experience (preferred, not essential)
• Tanker experience
• Manual gearbox experience
• Strong understanding of commercial driving regulations and safety practices.
• Perform some physical tasks associated with loading and unloading goods.
• Good knowledge of UK road networks
• A professional and positive attitude
• Good communication skills
• Own transport to travel to work
• Complete training as required
