Job summary

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is seeking a Sweeper/ Driver to keep streets, open spaces and land clean to a high standard. The role involves street cleansing, operating a range of equipment, and working to pre-set schedules.

A Class 2 licence with entitlement to drive 7.5 tonne+ vehicles is essential, and you may work alone or as part of a team. The post is based at Market Weighton depot with early starts and various shifts.

Qualifications

• Ability to work on own initiative with good communication and customer care skills.
• Full Class 2 driving licence with entitlement to drive 7.5 tonne+ vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Remove litter and detritus from streets, open spaces and land to a high standard.
• Follow pre-determined work schedules and standards set by the Council.
• Maintain and check equipment daily and clean as required.
• Assist in refuse collection, bulky collections and bin deliveries as needed.
• Work early mornings and in all weathers; may be required to work bank holidays and weekends.
• Role based at Market Weighton depot and use street cleansing vehicles and equipment.
