Job summary

Driver Hire Southampton & Winchester is recruiting Class 2 HGV drivers for a waste management partner. This temp-to-perm role starts with a 12-week probation and offers full training, weekly pay and a £250 sign-up bonus after 10 shifts.

Typical shifts run Monday to Friday, starting around 06:45, with approx. 50 hours per week. You’ll drive Skip, RoRo and Tipper vehicles, perform daily checks and log deliveries on a PDA. Own transport preferred.

Qualifications

• Full UK Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• Newly qualified drivers are encouraged to apply.
• Previous Skip or RoRo experience is an advantage, but full training is available.
• Experience using chains is beneficial.
• Own transport to travel to and from work.
• Good understanding of health & safety procedures and drivers' hours regulations.

Responsibilities

• Delivering, collecting and exchanging skips.
• Operating Skip, RoRo and Tipper vehicles.
• Completing daily vehicle checks and recording deliveries using a PDA.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and within scheduled time slots.

About this Class 2 Skip Role:
