Job summary

QS Recruitment is seeking a Class 2 (HGV) Refuse Driver to operate in the Caenby Corner (LN8) area, joining a local waste collection team. The role focuses on safe, efficient household waste collection and teamwork to keep the community clean and functioning. You’ll perform daily vehicle checks, drive planned routes, and assist loaders when needed.

The position is temporary with long‑term perm opportunities for the right candidate. UK applicants only.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence.
• Will take new passes.
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• Previous experience in refuse driving or a similar role preferred, but not essential.
• Good level of physical fitness.

Responsibilities

• Driving a Class 2 refuse vehicle on planned residential routes.
• Assisting loaders with the collection of household waste when required. (Not often)
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects.
• Ensuring all collections are completed safely and in line with regulations
• Providing a professional and courteous service to the public.
