Job summary

Driver Hire Southampton is recruiting for an experienced Class 2 (Cat C) HGV Multi‑Drop Driver to deliver food and drink to retail and catering customers across the local region. The role offers a Monday–Friday pattern with a 05:00 start and a 38‑hour week on a modern 26‑tonne vehicle.

You will join a professional and friendly team focusing on safe, reliable deliveries and excellent customer service. Long‑term full‑time opportunity with a respected employer in the transport sector.

Qualifications

• Requires valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV licence.
• Requires valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Previous Class 2 multi-drop delivery experience preferred.
• Good geographical knowledge and route planning skills.
• Friendly, professional approach with strong customer service.
• Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks.
• Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Safely complete scheduled multi-drop deliveries with excellent customer service.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety inspections and report defects.
• Load and unload deliveries using tail lifts and manual handling equipment where required.
• Accurately complete delivery paperwork and electronic POD.
• Follow planned routes and comply with Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive and tachograph regulations.
• Maintain high standards of road safety, professionalism and vehicle cleanliness.
• Coordinate with transport and warehouse teams to ensure timely deliveries.

The Class 2 (Cat C) Role

• Monday to Friday
• Start Time 05:00am
• 38 hours per week
• Multi‑drop deliveries to retail stores, convenience shops, and catering customers
• Driving a modern 26‑tonne Class 2 vehicle

Your Responsibilities

• Safely complete scheduled multi‑drop deliveries while providing outstanding customer service.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety inspections and report any defects.

• Follow planned routes while complying with Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive, and tachograph regulations.

• Work closely with the transport and warehouse teams to ensure deliveries are completed efficiently and on time.

What We're Looking For
