Job summary

Driver Hire Southampton is recruiting for an experienced Class 2 (Cat C) HGV Multi‑Drop Driver to deliver food and drink to retail and catering customers across the local region.

This Monday to Friday role starts at 05:00, with 38 hours per week, and offers a long‑term opportunity with a professional transport operation. You will drive a modern 26‑tonne Class 2 vehicle and join a friendly, supportive team.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Good geographical knowledge and route planning.
• Friendly, professional approach with excellent customer service.
• Physically fit and able to undertake manual handling duties.
• Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Safely complete scheduled multi‑drop deliveries while providing outstanding customer service.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety inspections and report any defects.
• Load and unload deliveries using tail lifts and manual handling equipment where required.
• Accurately complete delivery paperwork and electronic POD.
• Follow planned routes while complying with Drivers’ Hours, Working Time Directive, and tachograph regulations.
• Maintain high standards of road safety, professionalism, and vehicle cleanliness.
• Work closely with the transport and warehouse teams to ensure deliveries are completed efficiently and on time.
