Driver Hire Darlington is seeking an experienced Class 2 HGV Cement Mixer Driver for a long-term ongoing assignment delivering ready-mix concrete to commercial, industrial, and domestic sites across the Darlington area. You will operate the Class 2 cement mixer safely, conduct daily vehicle checks, meet delivery times, uphold customer service standards, and follow health and safety regulations.

A valid HGV Class 2 licence, Driver CPC, and Tachograph card are required; cement mixer experience is

Job description

Driver Hire Darlington is currently recruiting an experienced Class 2 HGV Driver to work on a long-term ongoing assignment operating a cement mixer vehicle for a leading construction materials supplier in the Darlington area.

The Role

As a Cement Mixer Driver, you will be responsible for delivering ready-mix concrete to a variety of commercial, industrial, and residential sites throughout the region.

Duties will include:

• Operating a Class 2 cement mixer vehicle safely and efficiently
• Delivering concrete to construction sites, building projects, and domestic customers
• Conducting daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects
• Safely operating mixer controls and discharge equipment
• Ensuring loads are delivered within specified timescales
• Maintaining excellent customer service standards on site
• Following all health and safety procedures and transport regulations

Requirements

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence
• Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
• Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous cement mixer experience preferred, although training may be available for suitable Class 2 drivers
• Good understanding of driver hours and working time regulations
• Professional and safety‑conscious attitude
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• No more than 6 penalty points for minor motoring offences
