Job summary

Driver Hire Manchester is seeking a Class 2 HIAB driver to service business and residential customers in and around the north west. The role includes securement of loads, HIAB handling, and timely deliveries from South Manchester.

You will operate a Class 2 vehicle with HIAB, hold a Cat C licence, and require CPC and tachograph cards. The job offers regular weekly pay, overtime, and a personal approach from the owner.

Qualifications

• HIAB operator certs required, including remote access.
• CPC and tachograph card valid for professional driving.
• Cat C/Class 2 licence held for at least 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Secure loads and manage height restrictions.
• Perform 5–6 drops daily using HIAB loader.
• Drive safely and comply with traffic laws.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and paperwork.
• Maintain contact with branch managers and progress updates.

Job description

Role: Class 2 HIAB Driver
Salary: £19.05 per hour Weekly Pay (£17.00ph with accrued holiday pay)
Location: South Manchester
Work Pattern: Full time, Monday Friday (expected minimum 40 hours per week)

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic HGV 2 Class 2 HIAB Driver for a large well know timber merchant to deliver to business and residential customers in and around the north west.

Class 2 HIAB Driver responsibilities:

• Securing loads, understanding height restrictions and legal height limits
• 5-6 drops per day, using HIAB Lorry Loader
• Driving vehicle responsibly and safely, obeying all traffic laws
• Daily vehicle checks to ensure procedural compliance
• Maintaining regular contact with Branch Managers on daily progress
• Completing paperwork accurately as instructed

Class 2 HIAB Driver requirements:

• Experienced HIAB Operator Certificate with REMOTE
• Cat C Licence (Category C - Class 2)
• HIAB Certificate - Class 2 HIAB Driver
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card
• No more than 6 points (No DD's, DR's, IN's, TT's)
• Full UK Driving licence, held for minimum 1 year
• Able to work to tight deadlines
