Job summary

The Best Connection is seeking a Class 2 (Category C) HIAB Driver for their Seahouses branch. This temporary relief cover role offers regular work for reliable candidates, with hours 07:30–17:00, Monday to Friday. You will deliver materials, operate a vehicle‑mounted HIAB crane, and maintain vehicle checks.

Key requirements include a valid Class 2 licence, HIAB certification, CPC and Tachograph cards, and up to 6 penalty points. Benefits include weekly pay and pension contributions.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) Licence.
• Valid HIAB Certification (ALLMI or equivalent).
• Up-to-date CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 penalty points (for insurance purposes).
• Experience in the construction supply or merchant industry is highly desirable.

Job description

The Best Connection are currently seeking a Class 2 (Category C) HIAB Driver for our client, a leading independent Builders' Merchant, based at their Seahouses branch.

This is a temporary relief cover position, however, there is regular work available for the right candidate who demonstrates reliability and professionalism.

The Role:

• Delivering building materials and timber to trade and residential sites across the local area.
• Operating a vehicle-mounted crane (HIAB) safely and efficiently for loading/unloading.
• Conducting daily vehicle walk-around checks and maintaining records.
• Acting as a professional face of the company at the point of delivery.

Shift Pattern & Pay:

• Monday to Friday: 07:30 - 17:00.
• Hourly Rate: £16.50 per hour.
• Overtime: Paid at x1.5 (£24.75 per hour) after 8 hours worked each day.

Requirements:

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) Licence.
• Valid HIAB Certification (ALLMI or equivalent).
• Up-to-date CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 penalty points (for insurance purposes).
• Experience in the construction supply or merchant industry is highly desirable.
