Job summary

Driver Hire Bury St Edmunds is seeking a Class 2 HGV Tanker Driver to start ASAP in Bury St Edmunds. You will drive a Class 2 water tanker, handle suction equipment, and complete paperwork, delivering loads safely across the Suffolk area.

The role offers day and night shifts with a guaranteed 12 hours per day, pay £16.85–£18.85 per hour, 28 days holiday prorated, and upskilling opportunities to ADR and HIAB after probation; new drivers welcome.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual licence is required.
• Category C entitlement must be held.
• Valid CPC and Digicard are essential.
• No more than 6 active penalty points.
• No DG, DD or IN endorsements on licence.

Responsibilities

• Drive an automatic Class 2 water tanker vehicle.
• Attend sites and operate tanker and suction equipment.
• Complete all required paperwork and ensure loads are transported safely.

We are looking for Class 2 HGV Tanker Driver to start ASAP for our client based in Bury St Edmunds, with all the support from our experienced Driver Hire team.

The successful Class 2 HGV Tanker Driver will receive:

£16.85/hr on days

£18.85/hr on nights.

Guaranteed 12hrs per day.

28 days holiday prorated on PAYE.

Upskilling to HGV, ADR and HIAB after satisfactory probation period.

What to expect as a Class 2 HGV Tanker Driver:

There are days (5am) and nights (5pm) available for this role. Monday - Friday you will be driving an automatic Class 2 water tanker vehicle attending sites and operating the tanker and suction equipment, completing all required paperwork, and ensuring that every load is collected, transported, and discharged safely.

Areas of work are around the Suffolk region (no London work).

Typical shift length is 12hrs long.

This position is temporary with a permanent position for the right candidate.

As a Class 2 HGV Tanker Driver you must:

• Full UK manual licence
• Category C entitlement
• Valid CPC & Digicard.
• Have no more than 6 effective penalty points.
• No DG, DD or IN endorsements.
