Job summary

Driver Hire Swindon in Purton, Wiltshire is seeking a reliable Class 2 HGV Driver to join a busy waste management and recycling operation. You will drive a Roll-On/Roll-Off vehicle to collect and deliver waste and recyclables safely.

This full-time, ongoing role has a temp-to-perm pathway. A safety-first attitude, valid Class 2 licence, Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card are required, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 2 HGV licence and Driver CPC.
• Digital Tachograph Card held and up to date.
• Experience driving HGVs, preferably in waste/recycling.
• Strong knowledge of drivers' hours regulations and road safety.

Responsibilities

• Drive a Class 2 HGV to collect and transport waste/recyclables.
• Operate a Roll-On/Roll-Off vehicle for deliveries/collections.
• Ensure loads and skips are handled safely and securely.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly.
• Follow road safety rules and drivers' hours regulations.
• Complete collections/deliveries efficiently and professionally.
• Prepare paperwork and operational documents accurately.
• Keep vehicle clean, roadworthy and well-maintained.
• Work independently and support the wider team when needed.
