Job summary

Driver Hire Edinburgh West is seeking experienced HGV Class 2 (Category C) drivers to join our pool for a range of assignments across West Lothian. We offer flexible, ad hoc and part-time work to fit around other commitments, with full-time hours occasionally available but not guaranteed.

Expect single and multi-drop deliveries, general haulage, loading and unloading, and completion of delivery paperwork. You must hold a valid HGV Class 2 licence, CPC and Tachograph card, and have a minimum of

• Minimum 1 year Class 2 driving experience.
• No more than 6 penalty points.

Driver Hire Edinburgh West are looking for experienced HGV Class 2 (Category C) Drivers to join our pool of drivers for a range of assignments across West Lothian.

Want to earn some extra money without committing to full-time hours? Whether you’re looking for occasional shifts or more regular part‑time work, we have a variety of driving opportunities available depending on client demand and your availability.

Full-time hours may occasionally be available but cannot be guaranteed.

What Kind of Work Can You Expect?

Our assignments cover a range of industries and may include:

• Single-drop and multi-drop deliveries.
• General haulage and pallet network work.
• A‑to‑B vehicle movements.
• Deliveries involving steel, office furniture, food and drink, and construction materials.
• Loading and unloading where required.
• Completing vehicle checks and delivery paperwork.
• Following drivers’ hours regulations, transport procedures and health and safety requirements.

With a variety of clients and assignments, there’s the opportunity to gain experience across different types of driving work.

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Minimum 1 year’s Class 2 driving experience.
• No more than 6 penalty points (minor offences only).
• No IN, DD, DR or CD endorsements.
• Good understanding of drivers’ hours and transport legislation.
• Reliable, punctual and professional approach.
• Flexible attitude towards different assignments.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• PAYE Basic: £14.50 per hour, plus accrued holiday pay.
• PAYE Advanced: £16.25 per hour.
• Flexible ad hoc and part‑time assignments.
• A variety of driving work throughout West Lothian.
• Opportunities to pick up additional shifts when available.
• Experience working with different clients and industries.
