Job summary

I4 is hiring a Class 2 HGV Driver based in Barking, Essex. This full-time, permanent role offers 11-hour days, early starts, and no nights out, with weekly pay and palletised load handling.

Experience is valued; you will use automatic Euro 6 Volvos or DAFs, ensure safety checks and tachograph compliance, and coordinate deliveries across the South East while maintaining cargo safety.

Qualifications

• Must have safe working practices and health & safety awareness.
• Valid digital tachograph (tachograph) and CPC card are required.
• Experience driving Class 2 HGV and palletised deliveries is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Secure pallets and perform daily tachograph and vehicle checks.
• Work 11-hour days, 5/6am starts, Mon-Fri with no nights out.
• Make 6-8 deliveries per day to South East sites and plan loads.
• Communicate ETA to first customer and coordinate with depots.

Class 2 HGV Driver

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Location: Barking, Essex

Salary: £800 – 900 per week depending on hours/ overtime

The work is consistent i.e. it is a full time, permanent job with weekly pay and your own allocated truck.

The trucks available are automatic, Euro 6, Volvos or DAFs.

About the role:

• This 18T HGV Driver role involves working directly for our customer, on contract.
• Our customer will be your point of contact for all operational work; however, we will be your point of contact should you have any issues with the truck or what the customer is asking of you.
• We are looking for experienced drivers ONLY.
• This is not a fast paced role, it is more about the care of the cargo and less deliveries.
• These HGV roles are independent and are ideal for driver’s that like to think for themselves.
• London driving will be a part of this job.

Outline of the Work:

• You must ensure that you secure all pallets, and your tachograph and vehicle checks are legal each and every day.
• This logistics role is based on 11-hour days with 5/6am starts, Mon-Fri with no nights out.
• Some days you may work 9-10 hours, obviously this is to your benefit, however if you work over 11 hours you get paid overtime.
• A typical Class 2 multi-drop driver will complete approximately 6-8 deliveries per day and work around 10-11 hours per day on average.
• Communication is key for this role, preparation of routing and load positioning is essential to achieving the workload with minimal disruption.

• Always be conscious of the health and safety of yourself and the people around you
• Valid digital tacho
• Up-to-date CPC Card

This 18T HGV Driver role involves palletised transport work of the same products each day, uniform cargo, doing multiple deliveries per day to commercial premises across the South East. Each morning, you’ll be expected to put your card in, do your walk-round checks, go to the office to get your consignments for the day, check your load, secure it as necessary, and commence driving — calling ahead to your first customer to advise an ETA where possible.
