Job summary

Veolia is hiring a Class 2 Driver / Loader in Shropshire. Salary £15.30 per hour with overtime when available. Guaranteed 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 6:45 am start; finish times vary. (Part-time hours would be considered)

You will drive and perform loading duties, collect recycling, refuse and green waste from domestic properties in Shrewsbury and surrounding areas, carry out vehicle defect checks, and record work on an onboard tablet. Training, DCPC courses and a supportive team await.

Qualifications

• Cat C (Class 2) Licence required.
• Driver CPC & Digi/Tachograph Card required.
• Willingness and capability to do a mixed loading/driving role.

Responsibilities

• Collect recycling, refuse and green waste from domestic properties.
• Drive as well as loading duties.
• Undertake vehicle defect checks.
• Accurately recording work on onboard tablet and report issues.
• Ensure the carriageway is left clean and spillages are cleaned up.
• Assist other Collection crews.

What you'll be doing

• With one of the largest growing fleets in the UK, our drivers are pivotal to delivering essential services.
• They work hard to serve their local communities and make a positive impact every day.
• Collecting recycling, refuse and green waste from domestic properties in Shrewsbury and the surrounding areas.
• Driving as well as loading duties
• Undertake vehicle defect checks
• Complying with all traffic laws and legislation including the security and weight of loads
• Accurately recording work completed using an onboard tablet device and reporting any collection issues that arise.
• Ensure the carriageway is left in a clean condition and any spillages are cleaned up before leaving the area
• Assisting other Collection crews

What we're looking for
