Job summary

Grundon is seeking a dynamic Transport team member for our Ford depot to drive and operate a range of waste collection vehicles, primarily handling hazardous clinical waste. You will work under the Depot Operations Manager, carrying out checks, maintaining safety standards, and delivering excellent service.

Qualifications

• Holds LGV Class 2 (Category C) licence and DQC with digital tachograph card.
• ADR certification desirable; training provided for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily vehicle checks, reporting and escalating defects in line with legal requirements.
• Comply with tachograph legislation, WTD, SOPs, and Risk Assessments.
• Report incidents, near misses, contaminated bins, and non-conforming waste promptly with accurate paperwork.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and complete weekly wheel nut torque checks.
• Wear and maintain PPE/uniform to Health & Safety standards.
• Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Ensure punctuality, accurate record-keeping, and completion of duty hours with overtime as required.
