Job summary

Grundon is hiring a dynamic LGV Driver for our Beenham operations. You will drive and operate a range of waste vehicles, conduct safety checks, and ensure timely waste collection and disposal with a strong commitment to customer care.

Reporting to the Depot Operations Manager, you will gain hands-on experience, support operations across locations, and uphold safety and quality standards in every task.

Qualifications

• Valid LGV Class 2 (Category C) licence, DQC, and digital tachograph driver card.
• Class 1 (C+E) licence would be advantageous.
• Full training will be provided for RO/ROs, skips, front end loaders and waste wheelers.
• Proactive attitude with flexibility for additional hours.
• Strong communication and customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily vehicle checks, defect/damage reports, and follow escalation processes.
• Comply with tachograph legislation, Working Time Directive, SOPs, risk assessments and H&S requirements.
• Report incidents, near misses, contaminated bins and non-conforming waste; complete paperwork with tickets.
• Maintain vehicles to a high standard, including cleanliness and weekly torque checks.
• Provide excellent service to colleagues and customers with reliability and timekeeping.
• Be flexible with hours and available for overtime to meet depot needs.
• Adhere to company policies and health & safety requirements.
• Undertake ad hoc duties as requested by management.
