Pertemps Northampton is seeking a reliable Class 2 HGV Driver to join their Northampton-based client. The role combines safe driving with customer-facing deliveries and branch support in a hands-on environment.

Key duties include planning routes, completing delivery paperwork, obtaining signatures, and reporting issues promptly. The successful candidate will have a valid HGV Class 2 licence, driver CPC, tachograph card, and a minimum of 2 years’ experience.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 (C) licence.
• Moffett licence preferred.
• Digital Tachograph Card and Driver CPC.
• Professional driving experience of at least 2 years.
• Willing to undertake Moffett licence training if needed.
• Strong awareness of health and safety.
• Professional, customer-focused attitude.

Responsibilities

• Confirm delivery instructions, plan routes and meet schedules.
• Complete delivery paperwork accurately and report discrepancies or returns.
• Obtain customer or branch signatures for deliveries and internal transfers.
• Report road restrictions, delivery issues, accidents or incidents promptly.
• Drive safely and professionally in line with all legal and company requirements.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report mechanical or safety issues.
• Supervise vehicle loading to ensure loads are secure and within weight limits.
• Ensure vehicles display relevant licence discs, accreditations and safety signage.
