Job summary

Gregory Distribution is seeking a Class 2 Driver to operate from the Bristol distribution depot, delivering to South West retail locations and ensuring secure, compliant loading and unloading. You will perform daily vehicle checks, manage site access, and communicate with the transport team to meet customer expectations.

The role requires a UK Class 2 licence, DCPC, and Digital Tachograph card. Training is provided, with competitive hourly pay and shift hours starting 17:00, lasting 11.25 hours

Qualifications

• UK Class 2 (C) licence required.

• Prior multi-drop delivery experience preferred; training provided.

Job description

As a Class 2 Driver, you will:

• Deliver products safely and efficiently to retail locations across the South West, operating from the Bristol distribution depot on behalf of a key customer.
• Manage secure access to retail premises, including alarm systems and store entry procedures, while ensuring accurate and compliant placement of goods within designated refrigeration units in line with customer requirements.
• Ensure goods are loaded and secured correctly to prevent shifting or damage. Use straps, nets, and other securing devices as needed.
• Perform comprehensive daily vehicle safety checks using your company phone to maintain top-notch vehicle safety and reliability.
• Stay in regular communication with the transport team to provide updates on your progress and ensure our customers' expectations are met.
• Participate in regular training sessions to stay ahead with the latest industry standards and best practices. You must hold a valid UK Class 2 (C) licence.
• A current Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC) and a Digital Tachograph Driver Card are essential to ensure compliance with legal and safety standards.
• As part of the recruitment process, successful candidates will be required to complete a Basic DBS check online due to the nature of the role.
• Previous experience in multi-drop delivery is preferred, but not essential, as full training will be provided to get you up to speed.

• You'll need to be comfortable working to tight schedules, managing your time effectively to ensure deliveries are made promptly and safely.
• A confident and polite communicator, you'll work closely with colleagues across transport and logistics, contributing to a supportive and efficient team environment.
• A good understanding of UK road networks, particularly across Wales and surrounding regions, will help you navigate routes efficiently and avoid delays. Competitive Salary: £16.09 per hour. Plus, for all hours worked between 21:00hrs & 04:00hrs, you will receive an additional £2.75 per hour.
• Shift Hours: Starting at 17:00hrs, working 11.25 hours per shift.
• Overtime: Paid at an hourly rate. Rest day working paid.
