Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the vehicle by carrying out operator maintenance and loading deliveries safely.
  • Complete delivery notes, return sheets and collect payments.
  • Follow delivery notes for special customer requests and routes.
  • Maintain customer confidence by keeping information confidential regarding premises security.
  • Check run sheets, pick orders for deliveries and plan routes according to the delivery note.
  • Plan routes and requirements for the drop by studying the schedule and customer requests.
  • Notify customers of stock shortages or delivery problems.
  • Return empty cases and gas bottles, storing them correctly.
  • Adhere to health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Complete checks and pass check sheets to the distribution manager.
  • Assist in the warehouse when required.
  • Look presentable in the LWC Drinks uniform.
  • Physical and manual handling is involved.

Job description

Job Title: Class 2 Driver

Reports to: Warehouse & Distribution Manager

Depot: LWC Leyland

Overview

To deliver products to customers within a specific area in a safe and friendly manner. Responsible for the care and upkeep of your designated vehicle. To provide excellent customer service standards to every customer.

Main Duties
  • Responsible for preparing the vehicle by conducting operator maintenance, ensuring all products for a delivery are correct and that they have been loaded onto the vehicle correctly and safely.
  • Responsible for completing delivery notes, return sheets and collecting payments.
  • Execute any special requests from customers by picking up and delivering items as directed on the delivery note.
  • Maintain customer confidence by keeping information strictly confidential regarding premises security and operational information.
  • Responsible for checking the run sheets, picking orders for your deliveries and routing.
  • To plan your route and requirements for the drop by studying the schedule and any requests by the customer that are on the delivery note.
  • Make customers aware of any stock shortages or problems with their delivery.
  • Responsible for returning all empty cases and gas bottles, and ensuring that they are correctly stored in the empties yard and unloaded in the correct manner.
  • Ensure that correct health and safety procedures are adhered to.
  • To complete all required checks and ensure that check sheets are passed to the distribution manager.
  • The ability to help in the warehouse when required.
  • To look presentable in the correct LWC Drinks uniform at all times.
  • Physical and manual handling is involved.
Knowledge and Experience

Pay

The starting salary will be £36,396, but will increase to £38,000 based on the successful completion of the probationary period.

Additional Information
  • Rotated shift pattern: Week One, Mon - Fri, Week Two, Tues – Sat.
