Job description

Class 2 Driver

- Salary: £14.50 per hour
- Hours: 39.5 hours per week, Monday to Thursday
- Location: Burnley Depot, BB10 2TJ

As a Class 2 Driver at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for operating a refuse/recycling vehicle up to 26 tonnes and collecting waste as part of a team. You will ensure all health and safety protocols are followed while managing a crew of up to three loaders.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.

What will you be doing?

- Driving a refuse/recycling vehicle up to 26 tonnes
- Collecting and transporting waste, including food and recyclables
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at council tipping points
- Managing daily vehicle checks and maintenance reports
- Leading a crew of up to three loaders
- Reporting incidents, assisted collections, and route discrepancies

What are we looking for?

- Valid Category C driving licence
- Valid digital tachograph card
- Minimum 35 hours Driver CPC training completed
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Ability to manage a team and follow procedures
- Previous waste industry experience (preferred but not essential)
- Knowledge of the area (advantageous but not essential)
