Qualifications

• Must have a valid Category C driving licence and digital tachograph card.
• Completion of 35 hours Driver CPC training is required.

Driver

• Salary: £14.50 per hour
• Hours: 39.5 hours per week, Monday to Thursday
• Location: Burnley Depot, BB10 2TJ

As a Driver/Loader at FCC Environment, you will be responsible for operating a refuse/recycling vehicle up to 26 tonnes and collecting waste as part of a team. You will ensure all health and safety protocols are followed while managing a crew of up to three loaders.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week.

What will you be doing?
• Driving a refuse/recycling vehicle up to 26 tonnes
• Collecting and transporting waste, including food and recyclables
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at council tipping points
• Managing daily vehicle checks and maintenance reports
• Leading a crew of up to three loaders
• Reporting incidents, assisted collections, and route discrepancies

What are we looking for?
• Valid Category C driving licence
• Valid digital tachograph card
• Minimum 35 hours Driver CPC training completed
• Physically fit due to the nature of the work
• Reliable and trustworthy
• Ability to manage a team and follow procedures
• Previous waste industry experience (preferred but not essential)
• Knowledge of the area (advantageous but not essential)
