Job summary

Ourbob in Bridgend is seeking a Class 2 refuse driver for a Monday–Friday daytime role. You will drive a Class 2 refuse vehicle, collect waste and assist loaders, while adhering to safety and road-use rules.

Applicants must hold a Class 2 licence, 6 months’ experience, UK DCPC and a Digi-tacho card; up to 6 points allowed but certain endorsements are not accepted. UK resident, travel to site required.

Qualifications

• Class 2 driving licence and at least 6 months of commercial driving experience.
• UK DCPC card and a valid Digi-tacho card are required.
• Licence may have up to 6 points; DD, TT, DR, CD, IN endorsements are not accepted.
• Driver should stay up to date with Working Time Directive regulations.

Responsibilities

• Driving and operating a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle.
• Collecting refuse from different local areas each day.
• Work alongside loaders when required.
• Assist with manual movement of domestic wheelie bins.
• Work safely around pedestrians, traffic and other road users.

Job description

Job Title: Class 2 Driver - Driving and Loading role. Working outdoors in all weathers. Manual Handling required.

Location:Bridgend

Pay Rate: £15.65 to £24.71 per hour

Basic: £15.65 + £1.89 holiday pay = £17.54 per hour

Overtime after 7.5 hours: £22.05 + £2.66 holiday pay = £24.71 per hour

Shifts:Monday to Friday (07:00 -15:30)

Driver Type:Class 2 - refuse driver

Experience:6 months class 2 experience - essential

All applicants are expected to complete work to a high standard while following site safety procedures.

About you:

You will have your Class 2 Driving Licence and at least 6 months experience driving commercially. You must also have your UK DCPC card and a valid Digi-tacho card. Our client may accept up to 6 points on your licence, but we can not accept DD, TT, DR, CD, IN endorsements. As a professional Driver, you will be up to date with the WTD regulations.

You will be a UK resident and will be able to travel to and from the site for your shift. We are unable to assist with VISA applications and cannot assist with relocation.
