Job summary

SRS Recruiting Limited in Preston is seeking a Class 2 Driver for a temp-to-perm role based at Walton Summit. You will deliver flooring products across the UK on Monday to Friday with start times between 04:00 and 06:00 and 7–12 deliveries per day.

The position offers permanent progression after probation, with hours typically around 37–45 per week and occasional nights out for Scotland routes. Hourly pay is £16.00 (holiday pay £17.93).

Qualifications

• Valid Class 2 / Cat C HGV licence.
• Valid Driver CPC.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• No more than 3 points on your driving licence.
• Newly qualified Class 2 Drivers are welcome to apply.
• Previous Class 2 driving experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Good customer service skills.
• Reliable and professional approach to work.
• Flexibility to complete occasional nights out.

Responsibilities

• Deliver flooring products to commercial customers across the UK.

• Unloading most deliveries using an FLT (about 99%).
• Occasional handballing may be required.
• Maintain reliable delivery schedules and customer service.
• Occasional nights out; 2-3 per week for Scotland routes.

Class 2 Driver - Temp to Perm

£16.00 per hour (£17.93 per hour including holiday pay)

Are you an experienced Class 2 Driver or a newly qualified HGV Class 2 Driver looking for a long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent?

We are currently recruiting for Class 2 Drivers to join our client based in Walton Summit, Preston. This is an excellent temp-to-perm Class 2 driving job, offering regular Monday to Friday work and the opportunity to secure a permanent position.

The Role - Class 2 Driver

As a Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for delivering flooring products to commercial customers across the UK.

You will typically complete 7-12 deliveries per day, with regular routes allowing you to build good knowledge of your customers and delivery areas.

• Monday to Friday
• Start times between 04:00 and 06:00
• Approximately 7-12 deliveries per day
• Delivering flooring products to commercial customers
• Around 99% of deliveries are unloaded using an FLT
• Occasional handballing may be required
• Regular delivery routes
• 2-3 nights out per week may be required for Scotland routes
• Nights out operate on a rota, so you will not be required to do them every week
• Guaranteed 45 hours per week once permanent
• Drivers currently average approximately 37 hours per week

Pay - Class 2 Driver

£16.00 per hour

£17.93 per hour including holiday pay

The position is offered on a temp-to-perm basis, giving you the opportunity to move into a permanent position with the client.

Class 2 Driver Requirements

Assessment & Start Date
