Job summary

DHL Supply Chain is seeking a HGV Class 2 driver to join our distribution service from Ashton-under-Lyne. The role features a brand-new fleet, a basic salary with quarterly bonus, and overtime opportunities with a £40K OTE.

Typical duties include day shifts, occasional nights out, operating a Class 2 vehicle, using a handheld terminal, and delivering nationwide to commercial properties. A driver CPC, tachograph card, and 12 months’ experience are required.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid HGV Class 1 or 2 Driving Licence (C) with Driver CPC.
• Digital Tachograph Card is required.
• Minimum 12 months of recent driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Work Mon-Fri day shifts with a 6:30am start (approx 10 hours overtime weekly).
• Complete nights out shifts (approx twice a week).
• Operate Class 2, 18 tonne curtainsided double deck vehicle with moving platform.
• Use handheld terminal to track products and deliveries.
• Deliver products to commercial properties nationwide.
• Operate pallet truck during deliveries.
• Drive safely and in line with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
• Comply with health and safety standards and the Highway Code.

Pay Rate: £28, 505.94 - Basic Salary Plus Quarterly bonus + £26.20 Night out Rate, + Overtime at T x 1.5 after 8 hours = £40K OTE

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will:

• Work Mon-Fri day shifts, 6.30am start time (Approx 10 hours Overtime available per week at Time and a half available)


• Complete nights out shifts (Approx twice a week - could be more or could be less - depends on the needs of the business)


• Operate Class 2, 18 tonne curtainsided double deck vehicle with moving platform


• Use hand held terminal to track products and deliveries


• Deliver our products to commercial properties nationwide


• Operate pallet truck when delivering goods


• Drive in a safe and efficient manner in line with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations


• Comply with our health and safety standards at all times, ensuring adherence to The Highway Code, road safety rules and vehicle regulations

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO

• Hold a valid HGV Class 1 or 2 Driving Licence (C), Driver CPC Qualification and Digital Tachograph Card


• Have 12 months recent driving experience (minimum)
