Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd in Bury St Edmunds is seeking a Class 2 Cylinder Driver for multi-drop gas deliveries. The role is temporary with a guaranteed 42.5-hour week and a competitive hourly rate of £18.29, with overtime at £27.44.

You will handle goods safely, maintain service standards, complete manual handling, and comply with driver hours, tachographs, and ADR packaging rules. A Cat C licence, Digi badge, DCPC, DBS check and training are provided.

Job description

As a Class 2 Cylinder Driver based in Bury St Edmunds, you will deliver gas cylinders across multi-drop routes, handling goods manually and maintaining high service standards.

This temporary position offers a competitive hourly rate of £18.29, rising to £27.44 for overtime and weekend work, with a guaranteed 42.5-hour week. Shifts run Monday to Friday, typically between 7am and 5pm, with occasional Saturdays during peak periods. You will receive 28 days of annual leave, which grows with service, plus potential six‑monthly bonuses up to £1,000.

Free parking, full training, and PPE are provided. A valid Category C licence is essential, along with a professional, safety-focused approach.

Competitive Pay

• Earn £18.29 per hour, guaranteed 42.5 hours per week, OT and weekends paid at £27.44 per hour.

Yearly Bonuses

• Earn up to £1000 every 6 months.

Flexible Shifts

• Monday to Friday with some Saturdays in busy times. Shifts run around 7am - 5pm. Some overtime is required.

Additional Information

• New / inexperienced drivers who hold the relevant licences will be considered.
• The role is due to start immediately and will be ongoing up to April/MAy 2027.
• For insurance purposes, you must have relevant HGV experience, should have no more than 6 points on your licence, and no DD or DR convictions in the last year.
