Job summary

GI Group UK is recruiting Class 2 Drivers for a client based in Warwick, with a temporary contract through the Christmas peak period.

Shifts are Monday to Friday, starting at 05:00, with 10 hours guaranteed per shift and no weekend work. Handball and occasional multi‑drop runs (up to 12 stops) are expected, with on‑the‑job training and defect reporting.

Qualifications

• Class 2 / LGV C licence entitlement
• Valid CPC and Tachograph
• Licence with no more than 6 points
• Over 21 years of age
• Flexible and able to stay calm under pressure
• Excellent customer service and communication with attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Handball duties and pushing trolleys.
• May include multi-drop runs (up to 12 stops per shift).
• Perform vehicle checks and complete any defects paperwork.
• On‑the‑job training for a temporary transfer role.

Class 2 Driver - Rates of Pay:

• * Monday to Friday - £18.49 inclusive of your holiday pay.

Class 2 Driver - Shifts and Hours:

• * Monday to Friday - no weekends!


• * Start Times: 05:00 am


• * 10 hours guaranteed per shift

This role is commutable from: Coventry, Warwick, Leamington Spa, Stratford-upon-Avon, Rugby, Banbury, Southam, Kenilworth, Southeast Birmingham and the other surrounding areas.

Class 2 Driver - The Role:

The Class 2 driver position is due to run until Christmas, supporting our client with their peak period during the Festive season. Handball is to be expected pushing trolleys, and this position may include some multi-drop runs (Up to 12 per shift). This is a temporary transfer position and training will be provided on the job. The Class 2 driver will need to be confident in completing vehicle checks and completing any required defects paperwork.

The candidate:

• * Will hold a Class 2 / LGV C licence entitlement


• * Will hold a valid CPC and Tachograph


• * Will have no more than 6 points on licence (no TT/IN/CU/DR/DG/CD/DD codes)


• * Will be over 21 years of age for insurance purposes.


• * Will be flexible and able to remain calm under pressure.


• * Will have the ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills and an attention to detail is essential.
