Job summary

GI Group is recruiting a Class 2 Driver for a Coventry-based client on a temporary contract with potential for permanent placement. The role involves trunking deliveries, typically 2 runs with 5–8 drops per shift, and involves unloading by FLT at delivery points.

You will perform pre- and post-trip checks and ensure compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate holds a Class 2/LGV C licence, CPC, Tachograph, and has at least 2 years of Class 2 experience.

Qualifications

Class 2 Driver - Shifts and Hours:

• Monday to Friday - £15.68 per hour inclusive of your holiday pay.
• Monday to Friday - no weekends!
• Start Time: 06:00 am
• 8 hours guaranteed per shift

Location: Coventry - This role is commutable from: Coventry, Rugby, Nuneaton, Bedworth, Banbury, Kenilworth, Wellesbourne, Stratford-upon-Avon, Southam and the other surrounding areas.

GI Group are recruiting for a Class 2 Driver for a position with our client based in Coventry. The ideal candidate will be placed with our well-established client as a temporary worker, The Class 2 Driver will be placed on a temporary contract, potentially leading to permanent.

Class 2 Driver - The Role:

This role consists of trunking delivery work consisting of packaging distribution, normally 2 run with an average of 5-8 drops per shift. The driver is responsible for transporting palletised packaging across England, there will be no handball duties, all deliveries will be unloaded by an FLT at delivery point. Drivers are responsible for ensuring safe loading and operation of the vehicle, undertaking vehicle checks to ensure safety and to prevent breakdowns and complying with driving regulations. This is a temporary position to start with, and training will be provided on the job. The driver will need to be confident in completing vehicle checks and completing any required defects paperwork.

The Perfect Candidate:

• Will hold a Class 2/LGV C licence entitlement
• Will hold a valid CPC and Tachograph
• Will have a minimum of 2 years' Class 2 experience
• Will be over 25 years of age for insurance purposes.
• Will be flexible and able to remain calm under pressure.
• Will have the ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills and an attention to detail is essential.
