Job summary

Pertemps Milton Keynes is seeking an experienced HGV1 W&D Trunk Driver for a dayshift role based in Bedford. This full-time, ongoing position involves trunking between RDCs and NDCs using wag and drag lorries, with no multi-drop deliveries or handball.

Your duties include daily vehicle safety checks, completing trunk routes, and maintaining accurate paperwork while complying with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Regulations. Expect regular hours and weekly pay, with straightforward, clean work.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) Licence.
• Valid CPC Qualification Card.
• Digital Tachograph Card.
• Minimum 6 months' recent Class 1 driving experience.
• Previous wag and drag experience preferred.
• No more than 6 penalty points; no DD, DR, CD, IN or TT endorsements.
• Good understanding of Drivers' Hours and Working Time Regulations.
• Professional, reliable and safety-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Drive trunk runs between RDCs and NDCs with wag and drag vehicles.
• Complete trunk routes and perform vehicle safety checks.
• Maintain accurate paperwork and comply with Regulations.
• No handball is required and the role focuses on clean, consistent work.
