Job summary

Panda is seeking an experienced Class 1 Shunter Driver to join our Leeds yard. This is a dedicated, internal fleet role with no waste collections or customer visits. You will move and shunt various heavy vehicles around the yard, drop off and collect vehicles for maintenance, safety inspections, and MOTs, and ensure the yard remains safe and organized for daily operations.

A Driver CPC is not required. We offer a 45-hour guaranteed week, pay at £16.50 per hour, overtime paid at 1.5x after 45

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Experience handling or driving heavy vehicles (tippers, skips, hooklifts) preferred.
• Reliable, practical, and safety-conscious driver with good communication.

About the Role

At Panda, we keep our operations moving safely and efficiently. We are currently looking for an experienced Class 1 Shunter Driver to join our Leeds team based at Leeds.

This is a dedicated, internal yard and fleet role. There are no waste collections, container deliveries, or customer-facing site visits involved.

What you’ll be doing:

• Moving and shunting various fleet vehicles around the yard (including Class 1, Class 2, tippers, skips, and hooklifts).
• Dropping off and collecting vehicles from local facilities for scheduled maintenance, safety inspections, and MOTs.
• Ensuring the yard remains safe, organised, and clear for daily operations.
• Note: A Driver CPC is not required for this role.

What we’re looking for:

• Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
• Experience handling or driving a variety of heavy vehicles (tippers, skips, hooklifts) is highly desirable.
• A reliable, practical, and safety-conscious approach to vehicle handling.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with the depot and workshop teams.

What you’ll get:

Pay Rate: £16.50 per hour.

Hours: 45-hour guaranteed week.

Shift/Schedule: 07:00 to 17:00 (5:00 PM), with a 45-minute unpaid break.

Overtime: Paid at x1.5 after 45 hours.
