Job summary

Gi Group is recruiting a Class 1 Night Driver for our client in Aston, Birmingham. The role offers temporary placement with regular work Monday to Friday, night shifts, and shifts from 15:00 to 20:00 with average 9–10 hours per shift.

You will drive UK-wide, complete checks, and maintain safety and regulatory standards. A Class 1 licence with CPC and tachograph knowledge is essential, along with customer service skills and physical fitness.

Qualifications

• Class 1 Licence required (C+E) with minimum 1 year driving experience.
• CPC training completed and in-date tachograph knowledge.
• Excellent customer service and attention to detail essential.
• Good geographical knowledge of local and surrounding areas.
• Able to work flexible hours and overtime if required, with compliance to health and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Distribute goods across the United Kingdom.
• Conduct thorough vehicle checks and complete defects paperwork promptly.
• Drive company vehicles safely and in line with transport regulations and company policies.
• Operate lifting equipment safely according to Company directives.
• No weekend or Bank Holiday work required, supporting work/life balance.

Class 1 Night Driver

Salary: £19.05 per hour inclusive of your holiday pay

Location: Aston, B6.

Days: Monday to Friday

Standard hours: 15:00-20:00pm starts - Finish

Average hours: 9-10 hours per shift

Weekly pay each Friday.

The Vacancy

Our client in Aston, Birmingham are looking to employ Class 1 shifts on a temporary basis, offering regular work Monday-Friday with night shifts available.

About You!

• Category C+E Driving Licence is essential with a minimum of 1 years' experience, full CPC training and the candidate must possess and in-date and functional digital tachograph.
• Will have no more than 6 points for minor offences (no IN/DD/DR offences)
• Previous experience as a Class 1 driver is essential.
• A good geographical knowledge of the local and surrounding areas.
• Your customer focused experience and expertise will underpin your ability to deliver this role fully.
• Will have the ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills and an attention to detail is essential.
• Good physical health is required as this can be a physically demanding role at times.
• Flexible in your approach to work, able to work reasonable overtime if required, and adhere to all health & safety practice.

About the Role!

• Distribution of goods across the United Kingdom.
• Must be confident in completing thorough vehicle checks and must be prompt in completing any required defects paperwork in full.
• Driving company vehicles in a safe, courteous, and responsible manner, including operating within the necessary transport regulations regarding driving hours, in line with company policies and legislation.
• Operating all lifting equipment in a safe manner and in accordance with all Company Safety Directives and method statements.
• No requirement to work on the weekend or Bank Holidays, offering a strong work/life balance.
