Job summary

Bulkhaul is seeking experienced Class 1 LGV drivers for permanent, full-time roles based in Newport. Night-outs are part of the role with 2–3 overnight stays weekly, and you will transport bulk liquids and powders in tank containers across the UK.

Night shifts and weekend work may apply, with an emphasis on safety, compliance and customer service. The position requires a valid LGV Class 1 license, Driver CPC, ADR for hazardous liquids, tachograph card, and experience with tankers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months Class 1 driving experience.
• Valid LGV Class One (C+E) license.
• Driver CPC training and Driver Qualification Card (DQC) present and ongoing.
• ADR license for hazardous liquids is required.
• Digital tachograph card to record driving hours.
• Experience with tankers and equipment (pumps, valves) beneficial.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations for dangerous goods.
• Knowledge of UK roads and routes for efficient deliveries.
• Must meet physical requirements for long hours and loading/unloading.

Responsibilities

• Transport bulk liquids, gases and powders across the UK in a safe and compliant manner.
• Perform daily vehicle and trailer safety checks; report issues.
• Complete delivery notes, logs and compliance records accurately.
• Load/unload cargo following company procedures and PPE guidelines.
• Communicate with clients and site staff to ensure on-time deliveries.
• Manage drivers' hours and rest periods to comply with regulations.
• Follow health and safety policies and report incidents promptly.
