Job summary

Grundon Waste Management Ltd in Banbury is seeking a Class 1 LGV Driver to join the Artic movements team. You will learn to drive and operate a range of waste collection vehicles safely and efficiently, reporting to the Site Manager.

The role offers a Monday–Friday 7:00am–16:30pm schedule with occasional Saturdays, a competitive salary with a driver bonus, and fully-funded CPC training on working days. Strong customer care and safety focus expected.

Qualifications

Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence.
Driver Qualification Card (DQC).
Up-to-date Digi Card.
Strong knowledge of analogue and digital tachographs, current driving and working time regulations, and the Highway Code.
Basic understanding of health & safety and, ideally, waste legislation.
Effective communicator with good interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
Able to interpret maps/directions and work independently or in a team.
Willingness to undertake additional tasks, hours, and training as required.

Responsibilities

Carry out daily vehicle checks, defect/damage reports, and follow escalation processes.
Comply with tachograph legislation, Working Time Directive, and SOPs, risk assessments, and H&S requirements (including PPE).
Report incidents, near misses, contaminated bins, and non-conforming waste with accurate paperwork.
Maintain vehicles to a high standard, including cleanliness and weekly wheel torque checks.
Provide excellent service to colleagues and customers with reliability and punctuality.
Be flexible with working hours and available for occasional overtime to meet needs.
Ensure compliance with all company policies including health, safety and employment.
Undertake ad hoc duties as requested by management within skills.
