Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Class 1 Lead Driver in Sherburn to combine hands-on driving with developing and supporting our driver workforce. You will lead inductions, coaching, and assessments while staying actively involved in day-to-day transport opportunities.

This full-time, permanent role operates any 5 from 7, 45 hours per week across AM/PM shifts, with a salary up to £46,030.25 and a range of benefits including leave, pension and more.

Qualifications

• Full UK Class 1 (C+E) licence with Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• Experience leading or mentoring drivers.
• Knowledge of Driver Hours and Working Time Directive.
• No more than 3 penalty points and no disqualifying endorsements in past 5 years.
• Commitment to safety, compliance and customer service.

Here at GXO, we’re looking for a Class 1 Lead Driver in Sherburn to combine hands-on driving duties with a key role in developing and supporting our driver workforce. You’ll be responsible for delivering driver coaching, inductions, assessments, and compliance support while remaining actively involved in day-to-day transport opportunities.

This is a full-time, permanent position. You will work ‘any 5 from 7’, working 45 hours per week covering both AM and PM shifts so flexibility is key!

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Lead by example, promoting safe driving behaviours, compliance, and exceptional customer service standards

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• A full UK valid Class 1 (Category C + E) licence, Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card
• Strong Class 1 driving experience with strong knowledge of Driver Hours and Working Time Directive regulations
• Previous experience coaching, mentoring, training, or supporting drivers
• No more than 3 current penalty points
• No DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements with a conviction date within the previous 5 years
