Job summary

GXO is seeking experienced HGV Class 1 drivers for our new site in Wellingborough. This full-time, permanent role operates on an any-5-days-from-7 pattern, at 48 hours per week, with daytime shifts starting between 12:00 and 15:00 and night shifts starting at 22:00.

You will perform multidrop and trunking deliveries, handle pallets and cages, and maintain clear communication with the Depot Transport Office while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Essential experience driving HGV Class 1.
• UK driving licence with C+E entitlement required.
• Valid Driver Qualification and Digital Tachograph Cards.
• No more than 6 penalty points and no disqualifying endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a mix of multidrop and trunking deliveries, while collecting waste from stores.
• Handle palletised goods and cages, ensuring safe loading and unloading procedures.
• Maintain clear communication with the Depot Transport Office and deliver courteous customer service.
• Operate company vehicles safely and ensure required documents are completed accurately and on time.

Here at GXO we are looking for HGV Class 1 Drivers to join us at our new site in Wellingborough. You’ll be part of a team that works closely together to keep operations on track and ensure deliveries are completed efficiently.

You will be working on a full-time, permanent basis, on an ‘any 5 days form 7’ pattern, contracted to 48 hours per week. We are currently recruiting for the following patterns: a daytime shift starting between 12:00 and 15:00, and a night shift starting at 22:00.

This role requires a degree of flexibility to work weekends in line with business needs.

What you will do on a typical day:

• Carry out a mix of multidrop and trunking deliveries, while collecting waste from stores in line with operational requirements
• Handle both palletised goods and cages, ensuring safe and efficient loading and unloading procedures
• Maintain clear communication with the Depot Transport Office regarding any issues and deliver exemplary customer service by being polite and courteous at all times
• Operate company vehicles in a safe, legal, and efficient manner while ensuring required documents are completed accurately and on time

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Previous experience driving Class 1 vehicles is essential
• Full UK driving licence with category C+E entitlement
• Valid Driver Qualification and Digital Tachograph Cards
• No more than 6 current penalty points
• No DR, DG, DD, BA, CD, AC, LC or TT99 endorsements
