Job summary

DFDS in the United Kingdom is looking for a Class 1 HGV Driver to join our team and help keep essential supply chains moving across cities and beyond.

You will operate fridge trailers, perform daily vehicle checks, carry out multi‑drop deliveries, maintain accurate logs, and comply with road safety rules while delivering excellent service to customers.

• Valid Full Class 1 (C+E) licence with DIGI card and CPC.
• Experience with fridge trailers or curtainsiders is a bonus.
• Able to work independently and deliver excellent service.

About the role

You’ll be driving modern, well maintained vehicles with fridge trailers, working for a company that values its drivers and offers great support.

You will be responsible for:

• Safely operating Class 1 vehicles to deliver ambient products to our customers

• Using curtainsider trailers, ensuring goods are secure and handled with care

• Making multi-drop deliveries across various locations

• Carrying out vehicle checks before and after shifts to ensure everything runs smoothly

• Keeping your logbooks up to date and following all road safety and compliance rules

About you

You’ll thrive in this role if you’ve got a Full Class 1 (Category C+E) licence, a valid DIGI card, and a CPC card. Experience with fridge trailers or curtainsiders is a bonus, but if you’re confident, safety-focused, and ready to learn, we’ll support you. You’re someone who works well independently, communicates clearly, and takes pride in delivering excellent service.

The fridge work involves a lot of city driving, especially in busy areas, so you’ll need to be confident handling a truck in tight urban spaces. A good understanding of UK driving rules and road safety is important, along with being able to manage your time and work independently.

We’re also looking for someone with a positive attitude and a focus on great customer service, it really makes a difference.
