Job summary

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Middleton, Manchester on a full-time ongoing basis. This role offers consistent work, competitive pay and a professional environment.

The position requires a valid UK Category CE Licence, Driver CPC, and Digital Tachograph Card, with a preference for at least two years' CE driving experience. Shifts are early starts, Monday to Sunday, with OT paid after 48 hours.

Qualifications

• A valid UK Category CE Driving Licence.
• A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card.
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• A minimum of two years Category CE driving experience preferred.
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• A professional, reliable and safety-conscious approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operating Category CE vehicles
• Delivering food products to store locations
• Ensuring all loads are safely secured before departure
• Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Reporting vehicle defects or issues promptly
• Completing deliveries in a timely and professional manner
• Communicating effectively with the transport office regarding delays or issues
• Complying with Driver Hours Regulations, the Working Time Directive, and UK road traffic legislation
• Completing all required paperwork and electronic records accurately
